Our goal is to provide all types of affordable housing in the Dallas Area. One way is to assure families that want an affordable home to live and build equity, have that opportunity. CHI completed our first ownership development of 14 townhomes, La Estrella, in 2019. CHI's second ownership development project of over 80 new homes in Five Mile started in 2021.
The Five Mile neighborhood is one rich in topography and location within the City of Dallas. Located to the North East of Lancaster Road and Simpson Stuart Road in Oak Cliff, CHI plans on building up to 90 homes in this neighborhood between 2021 and 2023.
We work with local builders, realtors and lenders to create great, affordable homes where families can live for years and build equity to support their future dreams. Families will also have access to the City of Dallas' DHAP program if they qualify.
CHI works with those that are in the neighborhood to build upon what the Five Mile neighborhood has created, a beautiful place to live. With views to downtown Dallas in some areas of the neighborhood, proximity to the Five Mile Creek and the neighborhood's Miller Family Park, you will find it a place that has the amenities you desire.
Another great community in Oak Cliff
Another successful project helping 14 families obtain affordable home ownership was completed in 2019. We mixed contemporary design with traditional materials to create a beautiful complement to the neighborhood. Two-story, two or three-bedroom townhomes feature kitchen islands with granite countertops, brushed nickel fixtures, stainless appliances, walk-in closets, full-size washer-dryer connections, 2 1/2 baths and spacious living areas all sold for less than $180,000.
LaEstrella is close to shopping and dining in Bishop Arts and on Jefferson Avenue. Lake Cliff Park is nearby. Blessed Sacrament Church is in the next block and others are nearby. Children are within walking distance of James Bowie Elementary, new Hector Garcia MS, or new Adamson HS. Families can catch the trolley at Davis & Zang or hop on the Jefferson Viaduct to get to the Dallas CBD in minutes. Each home has its own detached two-car garage and controlled access entry and exit gating.
